Avalonia is once again welcoming proposals for publication. If you’re an author with a strong foundation in your subject and a passion for sharing knowledge, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in well-researched, non-fiction works that align with Avalonia’s areas of focus:

• Scholarly or informed works on the history of Gods and Goddesses from global cultures and pantheons.

• Studies of medieval, Renaissance, and other historical texts of magic, including the Solomonic tradition.

• Explorations of the histories, practices, and beliefs of contemporary Pagan and Esoteric traditions.

• In-depth works on folklore, mythology, and folk magic, with a strong research foundation.

• Practical guides focused on polytheistic devotion, ceremonial magic(k), and witchcraft.

• Biographies of individuals who have made significant contributions to the modern Pagan, Goddess, Occult, and Esoteric movements—especially those whose stories have yet to be told.

 

We Do Not Publish:

• Fiction, fact-fiction, or alternate history

• Poetry, prose, or creative writing

• Channeled works of any kind

• Polemical or hostile works directed at other authors, traditions, or faiths

 

About You, the Author

We encourage submissions from authors who:

• Are familiar with one or more titles published by Avalonia. This will help you determine whether your work aligns with our catalogue.

• Are passionate and well-informed about their subject. You should have a genuine desire to share your knowledge and experience with others.

A Note on Publishing Realities

We value transparency. Please be aware of the following:

• Non-fiction writing—especially in niche fields—rarely provides a full-time income. Many authors support themselves through other careers, consultancy, or teaching.

• Avalonia offers a generous royalty on sales, provides complimentary copies upon publication, and allows authors to purchase additional copies at wholesale rates. We do not offer advances.

• A successful book requires a partnership. While Avalonia promotes its titles through retail and wholesale channels, your passion and outreach are vital. Are you willing to invest time and energy into promoting your work? If so, we’d love to work with you.
