The Goddess Hekate

Hekate is a goddess of ancient Greek religion whose roles extend far beyond her familiar association with witchcraft. Ancient sources connect her with crossroads, thresholds, protection and guidance, while later philosophical traditions give her a significant cosmic role. Today, she inspires diverse forms of devotion and magical practice.

Discover Hekate through books exploring her ancient history, mythology, symbols and worship, alongside contemporary devotion and magical practice. Choose historical studies such as Circle for Hekate and Hekate: Liminal Rites, practical works including The Temple of Hekate, or anthologies bringing together the experiences and research of her devotees.  Avalonia’s founder, Sorita d’Este, has helped shape contemporary Hekatean devotion through her books, the Covenant of Hekate and the Rite of Her Sacred Fires.
